Current Service Projects:
Sandwich Making
On June 28th, we made 200 Sandwiches & 100 Bag Lunches for our houseless neighbors as part of Roof Above's Day Services Program. This was an inter-generational activity led by our youth.
A heart-felt hank you to all who donated supplies.
Bottled Water Collection
Summer-long project - Bring bottled water (cases or bundles) to the meetinghouse. These will be delivered to Roof Above.
Roof Above “believes homelessness is solvable. It is not an inevitable reality.” They serve 1,400 people each day who are affected by homelessness.
Dinner to Time Out Youth
In July, we will provide dinner for Time Out Youth, from 4:45 - 5:30pm. If you need more details or would like to provide dinner and/or help serve on future dates, contact Kerry at the CFM email address: charlottefriendsmeetingnc@gmail.com

Love as Action:
a Declaration of Resistance
July 4 National Day of Action
Quaker public witness has long stood in opposition to cruel and authoritarian actions in our country. In this moment of rising authoritarianism and fascism, we are called to live that tradition again—together, in public.
Quakers in the News
“Young adults turn to Quakers’ silent worship to offset - cope with - a noisy world” — AP News article, 10/31/2025
“A group of Quaker congregations sued the Department of Homeland Security for changing a policy that prevented Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from carrying out operations in so-called “sensitive locations” such as houses of worship, playgrounds, schools and hospitals without approval from supervisors.”
— NBC News Article (1/27/2025)
Arch Street Meeting House in Philadelphia, PA
In May 2025, numerous Friends participated in Quaker Walk to Washington 2025. They walked from Flushing, NY to Washington DC. “From May 4th to 22nd, we trekked 300 miles to deliver our faith’s message to this government: that God-given human rights exist before & beyond US Citizenship.”
More details can be found on their website: Quaker Walk to Washington 2025
Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) objects to unjust orders on immigration and border policy. “FCNL remains resolute in its conviction to unite communities and legislators to champion fair migration policies.”
