Quaker Questions
Visitors are invited to share their journey and seek answers with designated Friends or any Friend. A program series on Quaker Basics is held periodically and allows newcomers and inquirers to explore
more about Friends faith and practice.
Literature and Publications
The library, located off the fellowship room, contains Quaker literature as
well as other books on religious, spiritual, and social concerns. Two monthly
publications, Friends Journal and Quaker Life, as well as “Pendle Hill
Pamphlets,” which reflect current concerns of interest to Quakers, are
available. Any literature may be borrowed. The Meeting publishes a newsletter
the week following each Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business.
Inquirers Gathering
Several times a year, there are opportunities for seekers to share their insights, reflections and questions regarding Quaker Faith with one another and seasoned Friends. These are usually evening meals. We suggest attending an Inquirers Gathering prior to requesting Membership to learn more about what being a Quaker/Friend involves.
Membership
After attending regularly for some time,Individuals who become familiar with and feel in harmony with the faith and practice of Friends can write a brief letter to the Clerk of the Meeting requesting
membership. A clearness committee will be formed to meet with the individual and then will make a recommendation to the Monthly Meeting regarding membership.
